Art Projects in SAFE:

Recipe Books:
The SAFE students will begin their annual multi-cultural recipe book. The book will have many yummy recipes from our students. This will give the students an opportunity to showcase family recipes while sharing them with other students and their families.

Holiday Crafts:
November: Thankful Tree and Placemats
December: Ornaments and Snow Globes

Around the World:
We will continue our "Around the World" activity that helps our students learn and better understand different cultures from around the world. We discuss the education, foods, and the way of living that may differ from what is seen here in our country. From time to time, we create food samples from other countries. All of this is decided by having a student cover their eyes while spinning the globe and whichever country the student's finger  lands, that is the country the group learns about for the month.

Acts of Kindness
Safe students have continued to celebrate  "Acts of Kindness" throughout the school year. The students and staff make hearts, four leaf clovers, flowers, etc., to display on our board or wall to demonstrate how we share kind thoughts to others.

For the second year we have a staff who is also a gymnastic's coach! The staff helps the student with cart-wheels, tumbling, and other stunts to help the students with their coordination and balance. The classes are held on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Parents must sign-up their students in order for them to participate. Their is no cost and only 12 students per session. The morning session is reserved for the students who only attend the morning program and if there are extra spaces in the morning session, the afternoon students can participate on a first come, first serve basis. The students who participate really enjoy it and look forward  to the class each week.

Reading Challenge:
The Safe students will begin our annual "Reading for Knowledge" campaign January through March. This campaign is done to promote reading and the student who reads the most books wins a prize. All students who participate will receive an award.

This year the SAFE program will begin a reading program called Kidzlit. This program is designed to help students get more involved in reading by participating in discussions and engaging in fun learning activities.

The Kidzlit Science program helps the students discovery new things in Science such as Rock and Nature Science and Forensic Science to name a few.
