Vista Grande is fortunate to have many forms of technology available for both staff and students. Each class has a regularly scheduled time in the Computer Lab, and each classroom has at least three computers. We also have two mobile labs of 16 laptops which teachers can sign up for.
We have digital still cameras, digital video recorders, document cameras, multimedia projectors, clickers, and interactive whiteboards. All these types of technology help make the curriculum more interactive and interesting to students.
Younger students (kindergarten, first and second grade) typically use software programs which reinforce skills they are learning in the classroom in math, reading, writing or science. Older students (third, fourth and fifth grade) learn keyboarding, use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and use the internet for research.
Students learn to use network resources, printers, digital cameras and other technology tools.
Students also learn about internet safety.
